Driver of stolen truck arrested

Saskatoon police arrested a man early Saturday morning after he refused to stop for officers.

At approximately 2:00 a.m., September 7, 2019, Patrol officers observed a black Ford F-350 being driven erratically near 33rd Street West and Avenue D North. Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the driver refused to pull over. The Air Support Unit (ASU) observed the suspect vehicle park at an apartment complex in the 100 block of St. Lawrence Court. ASU directed Patrol officers to the suspect who had exited the vehicle and was attempting to gain access to a ground-floor apartment suite. Prior to entry being gained, the suspect was arrested without incident. He was found in possession of bear spray. Police confirmed that the truck had been stolen out of Kindersley, SK and had an incorrect licence plate on it.

A 35-year-old man is charged with Dangerous Driving, Evade Police, Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000, Possession of Dangerous Weapon, Breach of Probation and Breach of Recognizance.
