Youths arrested after attempted robbery

Two male youths, aged 15 and 16, are in custody after they attempted to rob a male in the 200 block of 23rd Street East late last night.

On April 11, 2019, at 11:20 p.m., Saskatoon Police received a report of an attempted robbery in the 200 block of 23rd Street East. A 41 year old male had been confronted by 3 male youths who demanded his property, one who was believed to be in possession of a knife. The victim was able to flee.

When officers arrived they quickly spotted the three suspects. Two of the males were quickly apprehended, one with the assistance from the K9 Unit. A third suspect remains at large.

The suspect apprehended by the K9 Unit sustained a dog bite and was treated by Medavie Health Services at scene prior to being transported to the Detention Centre.

The two male youths are facing charges that include Robbery and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.

They both appeared in court the morning of Friday, April 12, 2019. Their court information numbers are 991087209 and 991087207.
