Body recovered from river in Saskatoon

Saskatoon Fire Department recovered a body in the South Saskatchewan River beneath the Victoria Bridge in Saskatoon on Thursday, March 14.

Saskatoon Police will now work with the Chief Coroner’s Office to confirm the identity of the deceased.

Saskatoon Police and Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a report at approximately 1:40 p.m., on Wednesday, March 13, of a person in the river near the Senator Sid Buckwold Bridge. The Saskatoon Fire Department was notified a water rescue unit searched the river with boats and divers. Sonar technology was used to locate the body.
