Kevin Tooley seeks Sask Party nomination

Kevin Tooley

Warman City Councillor, Kevin Tooley, has been approved as a candidate for Saskatchewan Party nomination for the Martensville-Warman constituency for the 2020 provincial election.

Tooley has lived in Warman since 2004 with his wife Danielle, a Principal with Saskatoon Public Schools, and their two daughters who attend Warman Community Middle School and Warman High School.

Tooley was born and raised in Prince Albert and graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with Bachelor Degrees in Kinesiology and Commerce. He also completed a Post Graduate Certificate Program in Real Property Valuation from the University of British Columbia.

Tooley is currently serving in his second term as a City of Warman Councillor.

During his time with City Council he has had the opportunity to work with several community groups and developed positive working relationships with stakeholders and partners throughout the constituency.

Tooley said his experience on council has provided him with a solid understanding of the role of an elected representative. He said he’s ready to make the transition from the municipal council table to the provincial legislature.

“I simply could not pass on the opportunity that presented itself when our current MLA, Nancy Heppner, announced that she will not be running in the next provincial election,” said Tooley. “My hope is to bring the interests of the constituency forward while continuing to build on contributions made to the province and the Saskatchewan Party by the Heppner family.

“Given that the communities within the constituency make up the fastest growing region in the province, I am committed to drawing attention to the need for provincial infrastructure funding to allow for future growth.”

Tooley said as the spouse of  an educator, he is well aware of the ongoing challenges in the education sector. Concerns related to the health care sector within the constituency are also a priority for Tooley.

As a representative for the City of Warman Tooley has been responsible for several roles, some of which include:  Alternate Deputy Mayor, Administration & Finance (Chair), Economic Development (Council Lead), Environmental Health & Welfare (Chair), Planning & Development, Recreation & Culture (Council Lead), SAMA Urban Advisory Committee (Appointed by SUMA), Warman Library Board, and Wheatland Regional Library Board.

Besides his role with Warman City Council, Tooley has a full-time career with the City of Saskatoon Corporate Financial Services where he is an Assessment Manger.  He is professionally designated as an Accredited Appraiser (AACI) with Appraisal Institute of Canada and a Licensed Assessment Appraiser (LAAS) with the Saskatchewan Assessment Appraisers Association. Throughout his professional career he has also had work experience in: Recreation and Leisure, Health Care, Labour Relations, and Financial Services.
