Suspects arrested on drug trafficking charges

Two people are facing drug trafficking charges following an investigation by the Saskatoon Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU).

On January 25, 2019, with the assistance of the Saskatoon Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team (SIDEST), the Saskatoon RCMP detachment and Saskatoon Police Patrol members, two persons were arrested and a search warrant was executed at a home in the 400 block of 4th Street East. A 41-year-old man was arrested from a traffic stop and a 37-year-old woman was arrested from the residence on 4th Street East. In total, Police seized 547.5 grams of methamphetamine, 224.75 grams of heroin, 40.1 grams of fentanyl, nearly $6000 in cash and drug packaging materials.

Both are facing charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl and Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000. The 41-year-old man is facing additional charges of; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Heroin, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Weapon (x2) and Breach of Probation. CFSEU is funded by the Government of Saskatchewan through the Ministry of Justice, Corrections and Policing. CFSEU is an investigative body comprised of personnel from partner police agencies from the Regina Police Service, the RCMP, the Prince Albert Police Service and the Saskatoon Police Service.
