Two women were killed in a two-vehicle collision involving a combine near Cudworth on Thursday, September 27.
Wakaw RCMP stated that at 5:00 pm on Sept 27, Members of the Wakaw RCMP, Hoodoo Fire Department., and EMS were called to the intersection of Highway 2 and Provincial grid road 767 which is approximately 6.6 kilometers south of Cudworth.
It was reported that a vehicle was southbound on Highway 2 and collided with a combine that was coming off a grid road from the east onto highway 2.
The driver of the combine was not injured, but two adult females that were occupying the vehicle were pronounced deceased at the scene.
A third occupant of the vehicle, an adult male, was transported to hospital in Saskatoon with undetermined injuries. At this time, it is believed alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
The intersection was restricted to traffic for several hours while an RCMP Traffic Reconstructionist attended to the scene to gather evidence along with the Saskatchewan Coroners service.
The collision is still under investigation.
