One person dead following Highway 16 crash

A 55-year-old woman was pronounced deceased at the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Highway 16 west of Saskatoon on Monday morning, July 9.

At about 9:00, police and fire were dispatched to the scene at the intersection of Highway 16 and Rge. Rd. 3064 near Mireau Road. A tractor trailer unit collided with a farm tractor sending both vehicles into the north ditch.

According to Medavie Health Services, a second occupant of the farm tractor, a 55-year-old male, was taken to hospital and is in stable condition. The driver of the tractor trailer unit was not injured.

The westbound lane of Highway 16 is closed and traffic is being diverted to Dalmeny road, while emergency crews investigate and clean up the scene. The contents of the tractor trailer unit are not known at this time.
