High speed chase south on Highway 11 results in arrest of impaired driver

A 42-year-old man is facing charges of impaired driving, dangerous driving and driving while over .08 after a wild chase early Saturday morning, June 9.

Rosthern RCMP pulled over a vehicle on Highway 11 near that community but when officers approached the vehicle and observed the operator with signs of impairment, it fled southbound. Warman RCMP members successfully deployed a spike belt near the junction of highways 11 and 12 as the driver entered Saskatoon. The driver fled on foot but was apprehended a short time later.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Monday, June 11 at 9:00 a.m.
