Byelection for Mayor slated for Radisson

A byelection for Mayor of the Town of Radisson is slated for Wednesday, June 27.
Two candidates have thrown their hats in the ring: Leona Bennett and Ron Dubyk.
Bennett, who served on Radisson town council for two and a half terms beginning in 2009, said she has two priorities: attracting additional businesses to the community and reducing the size of the town’s accumulated debt.
“It won’t be easy and it won’t be done in a day,” said Bennett in an interview on Friday, May 18. “But if people work together, we can make it happen.”
Bennett said she is running for Mayor because she loves the community and wants to see it improved.
Several attempts by the Gazette to contact Ron Dubyk on his landline phone were not successful.
An advance poll will be held at the Radisson town office on Wednesday, June 13.
