Regina Capitals win PJHL championship

The Delisle Chiefs and Regina Capitals went head-to-head in the PJHL championship series

The Regina Capitals captured the Prairie Junior Hockey League (PJHL) championship on Thursday, April 12 with a 7-3 win over the Delisle Chiefs.
After dropping the first game of the best-of-seven final series, the Capitals went on to win four straight.
Both teams paid tribute to the Humboldt Broncos in Game 4 of the series on Tuesday, April 10 in Delisle in emotional pre-game and post-game ceremonies.
The Delisle Chiefs of the Junior B PJHL are closely linked to the Broncos, a team in the Junior A Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL). The tragedy involving the Humboldt Broncos team that occurred on April 6 hit the Chiefs hard, and the Chiefs coach acknowledged it would be hard to overcome the emotions in the final games of the championship series. But, he added, they were playing for the Broncos and they gave it their best shot.
