Roughnecks to allow Rush Hulk into Calgary NLL game

Kelvin Ooms of Warman is the Rush Hulk

The host Calgary Roughnecks are allowing the Saskatchewan Rush Hulk to attend this weekend’s National Lacrosse League (NLL) game in costume.
But according to a report posted on the 650 CKOM news website on January 24, there are some restrictions that super-fan Kelvin Ooms of Warman (aka The Rush Hulk) must abide by.
The website quotes Roughnecks vice-president Mike Moore as saying the Hulk is welcome to “sit in his seat and be a fan” but he won’t be allowed to “be a mascot.”
Earlier this week, the Calgary Roughnecks organization said Ooms would not be allowed inside the building if he was wearing his Rush Hulk costume.
Ooms has organized a road trip with four bus loads of Saskatchewan Rush fans to Calgary.
The Saddledome has a policy of no mascots, citing safety and security concerns.
Ooms was initially banned after requesting a handler, as well as a cool-down room to store his extra ice vest,
Ooms has expressed concern about the restrictions. The Saskatchewan Rush organization and Rush fans have rallied behind Ooms.
