Area volleyball teams advance to provincials

The Dalmeny Cougars senior girls volleyball team in action during a regional tournament last weekend

The Senior Girls Regional Volleyball Championships were on November 10 and 11, which saw the top teams qualify for the Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association Volleyball Provincial Championships.
The provincial tournaments will be held on November 17 and 18.
The Dalmeny Cougars hosted the 4A West Regional Championship and they finished in third place, which was good enough to advance to provincials that will be in Yorkton.
The Borden Bruins finished as the top team in the 1A North Regional Tournament and they will travel to Maple Creek for provincials,
The Walter W. Brown (Langham) Vikings finished in third place in the 2A East Regional Championship and they now move on to provincials, which will be in Davidson/Kenaston.
The Stobart Rebels, Waldheim Raiders and Hepburn Hawks all competed in the 3A West Regional Tournament. After the round robin, Hepburn and Waldheim finished last in their respective pools and failed to make the playoff round. However Stobart finished second and qualified for the playoff round. They dropped their game in the semifinal but won their third place match and they qualified for the provincials championship tournament, which is will be played in Carlyle and Oxbow.
