Warman to apply dust-free surface to Range Road 3051

The City of Warman will be applying a layer of SB-90 Road Dust Suppressant to a portion of Range Road 3051 along the city’s western edge.
Warman City Council voted at its May 23 meeting to allocate $30,000 to the project, slated to be done in the next few weeks.
The application of the dust suppressant is aimed at alleviating the problem of dust from heavy trucks drifting into adjacent residential areas.
Warman city administration presented a report to council from consulting engineering firm AECOM outlining five options. The application of SB-90 dust suppressant was the least-expensive option, and the treatment is expected to last between three and five years.
The oil-based treatment has been used in Hague, Hepburn and Blumenthal.
In his report to council, Warman City Manager Bob Smith said approximately 1.3 kilometers of the roadway will be treated.
The northern section of the road, which connects with Highway 305, will be left untreated since there is no urban development in that area at this time.
