A 22-year-old Radisson man is facing several charges following an altercation involving a firearm overnight.
At approximately 2:00 a.m., on Friday, December 16, 2016, Saskatoon Police officers were called to a parking lot in the 800 block of Idylwyld Drive North in Saskatoon.
Witnesses reported that an altercation had occurred but had been broken up by a bystander..
One of the individuals involved had reportedly returned, and threatened the bystander with a firearm.
The suspect then drove away in a GMC pickup truck. As officers were taking statements at the scene, the suspect vehicle returned. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted an the 22-year-old man was taken into custody. He was found to be in possession of a magazine with .22 calibre shells.
A search of the vehicle located a .22 calibre rifle.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
The 22-year-old man is facing nine charges including assault with a weapon. He will either appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Friday, December 16, or be seen by a Justice of the Peace.
