Langham firefighters were dispatched to a fire on a farmyard near Langham, just before 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The Dalmeny Fire Department also responded to the call. Firefighters were on the scene just off Highway 305 near Langham for over two hours. More details to come.
UPDATED: June 21: A 20-year-old man and a 33-year-old were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a twp=vehicle head-on collision between Warman and Martensville on Monday evening, June 19.
According to witnesses on the scene, at approximately 9:15 a Pontiac Torrent SUV collided with a Honda Accord on Highway 305, just south of the railway tracks that cross the highway.
Saskatoon motorists heading to the lakes on Highway 11 over the Victoria Day long weekend probably had to hit the brakes and reduce their speed just a little bit north of Warman.
Surprise! The provincial Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure instituted a 90 kilometer per hour speed limit in the vicinity of the Highway 11 junction with Highway 305, where a new overpass is being built.
According to a spokesperson with the Highways Ministry, the reduced speed zone is due to the overpass construction, and is expected to remain in effect until the project is completed in the fall of 2019. Continue reading “Editorial: Lower speed zone a good idea”
