Firefighters contain fire near Langham

The fire on May 16 began in a pile of organic waste material at the Langham Transfer Station

Firefighters from Langham, Dalmeny and Martensville were able to contain a wildfire on the outskirts of Langham on Wednesday, May 16.
The fire began at the Langham Transfer Station at about 2:30 p.m. Fanned by a brisk northerly wind, the fire quickly spread into a neighbouring stubble field and a nearby slough area with tall dry grass. Driver injured in Langham crash

The driver of a half-ton truck that rear-ended a semi-trailer on Highway 16 at the Langham intersection was lucky to escape with apparently non-serious injuries.

Emergency responders were called to the scene of a collision between a half-ton truck and a semi-trailer unit on Highway 16 near Langham on Thursday, September 14

The collision occurred about 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 14. Langham Fire Department, Warman RCMP, MD Ambulance and Dalmeny Fire and Rescue responded to the crash.
According to an RCMP officer on the scene, a westbound white half-ton truck struck a westbound semi-trailer gravel truck from behind while travelling at highway speed about a hundred meters west of the intersection of Highway 16 and Range Road 3074. Continue reading “Driver injured in Langham crash”
