Driver injured in Langham crash

The driver of a half-ton truck that rear-ended a semi-trailer on Highway 16 at the Langham intersection was lucky to escape with apparently non-serious injuries.

Emergency responders were called to the scene of a collision between a half-ton truck and a semi-trailer unit on Highway 16 near Langham on Thursday, September 14

The collision occurred about 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 14. Langham Fire Department, Warman RCMP, MD Ambulance and Dalmeny Fire and Rescue responded to the crash.
According to an RCMP officer on the scene, a westbound white half-ton truck struck a westbound semi-trailer gravel truck from behind while travelling at highway speed about a hundred meters west of the intersection of Highway 16 and Range Road 3074. Dalmeny, Martensville fire departments respond to fire calls

Martensville firefighters arrive on the scene of a fire at a farm west of Martensville on Friday, July 28

Martensville Fire Department members responded to a fire call on a farm in the RM of Corman Park about a mile west of Martensville on Township Road 384 at about 3:45 p.m. on Friday, July 28. Thick black smoke was visible for several miles around for a short time. When firefighters arrived, an old barn on the property was still smouldering and bales were burning. The house and other buildings on the farm were not damaged, and no injuries were reported. Martensville firefighters quickly had the small fire under control. A crew from the Dalmeny Fire and Rescue were among the first to arrive on the scene, but left once Martensville firefighters arrived. The Dalmeny firefighters were investigating the source of the smoke after having fought a grassfire at the intersection of Highway 16 and the Dalmeny Access Road. The grassfire had been reported at about 3:30 p.m. and was also quickly extinguished.
