Residents urged to nominate businesses for WMBEX Awards

Had a good experience with an area business lately?
The Prairie Sky Chamber of Commerce (PSCC) is asking residents to nominate outstanding area businesses for an award.
Nominations opened earlier this month for the third annual Warman Martensville Business Excellence Awards (WMBEXA). Introduced in 2016, the WMBEXA is designed to recognize and celebrate excellence in business.
Categories include: Customer Service, Community Involvement, New Business of the Year, and Non-Profit of the Year.
The deadline for nominations is Monday, December 18. The awards gala will be held on May 4, 2018 at the Brian King Centre in Warman.
PSCC Executive-Director Jamie Malmgren said the organization decided to open up the nominations to actively engage residents.
“With that in mind, we’re running a contest,” said Malmgren. “If you nominate three businesses for WMBEXA, your name will get entered into a draw for a chance to win two tickets to the WMBEXA Gala in May.”
Malmgren said the Non-Profit of the Year award replaces the former Marketing Award.
“This category will recognize organizations that serve and promote the community through time involvement, energy and volunteer hours spent,” said Malmgren. “It will be given to an organization whose example demonstrates excellence in the enthusiastic support and promotion of the community.”
