Warman man faces charges of fentanyl smuggling

A 27-year-old man from Warman is in custody and facing several serious charges related to importing illegal drugs.
In summer 2017, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) began an investigation into possible illegal importations of suspected Fentanyl derivatives into Saskatchewan.
As a result of further investigation, on November 7, 2017, a 27-year-old male was arrested without incident in Warman by CBSA and Warman RCMP.
On November 7, 2017, RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime executed a search warrant at a rural residence near Warman. 4.77 grams of suspected Fentanyl derivatives were seized from the residence as well as 25.88 grams of marihuana.
Kelsey Isley of the Warman area is charged with:
· 1 count, Possession of a controlled substance, Fentanyl derivatives, section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act
· 1 count, Possession of a controlled substance, cannabis, section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act
· 1 count, Unlawfully import into Canada, Fentanyl derivatives, section 6(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act
Isley appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Wednesday November 8, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. His next appearance will be on November 15 at 2:00 p.m. in Saskatoon Provincial Court.
Fentanyl derivatives are different types of synthetic drugs that are derived from Fentanyl.
The suspected substances have been sent to Health Canada labs for testing.
