Saskatoon Police are releasing surveillance images in an effort to identify a suspect in the recent robbery of a financial institution.
The images, captured on surveillance cameras, show the male suspect and his vehicle at the scene of the robbery in the 3000 block of 8th Street East on July 31, 2017, at approximately 11:30 a.m.
The suspect was gone when police arrived at the scene. Witnesses told police that a man came into the financial institution and demanded money from an employee. He claimed to have a weapon, but no weapon was seen during the incident. The man fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured.
The suspect is described as being Caucasian, approximately 50 years old, short in height with a large belly and a brown beard. He was wearing a black, silk rimmed Fedora hat with sunglasses and a black long sleeved shirt with a mesh jacket. One of his hands was bandaged and he was carrying a blue bag.
The suspect vehicle is described as a black Chrysler 300 with tinted rear windows and shiny rims.
